We want to train up the next generation in the
word of God. Wednesday night is a Bible
study night to help us to live a victorious life in
Jesus Christ. When life's pitfalls come, it's not
the bowling team that can help, it's the Word
of God (Jesus) that brings relief.
Isaiah 59:19 "When the enemy comes in like
a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a
standard against him."

Gym Night on Saturday Night from 6:30pm - 9:30 pm
Every Saturday the gym is open for young
(and young at heart) to come and play
basketball and volleyball. We have a game
room for the little ones 12 and under. We
also have a full service snack bar. We have
burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks.
Burgers chips and a drink runs $1.75.
In our time today, the church as a whole has gotten away from the Lord. I n Revelation 3:17 Jesus said "Because
thou sayest, 'I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art
wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the
fire."
In our country today, we relate our relationship with God based on how many things we have. Don't get me
wrong, the bible says in Psalms 35:27 that the Lord has pleasure in the prosperity of his servants. The problem is that
we have sought the blessings without the presence of God. It is time to rebuild our foundation in the church. The
gospel is about a loving God that wanted to have a relationship with his creation, but could not because of the sin that
separated us. So instead of destroying us, Jesus came and took our penalty on the cross.
Romans 6:23 "The wages
of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Message From God's Word
What are these foundations that we need to work on? The first is submission.
When we come to Jesus, we are asking him to be the Lord of our life. In America,
we don't really understand what a Lord is because we live in a democracy. A
Lord is the one in charge. We he gives a command, it is to be obeyed. In
America, when a command is given, we take a vote, and if we don't like it, we vote
it out. Jesus said in
Luke 6:46 "why do you call me Lord,Lord, and do not
the things that I say."
Salvation is not just about saying that you believe in
Jesus, but that he becomes your Lord. When we accept Jesus we are saying that
we have tried to live our life with us as the boss and that didn't work out. We
realize that without Jesus' help we will not make it into heaven.
. James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe and tremble."
We are no different than a devil if we just believe that God exists. We have to submit our lives to him and abide, or live
in him, if we want to receive anything from him, even salvation.
Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone that says Lord, Lord,
shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father, which is in heaven."
The next foundation goes right along with the first. Self-denial.  Galations 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the
faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
We have to realize that once we receive the
price for our redemption, or buying back, we no longer belong to ourself. The good news to that is that God has a
purpose and a plan for your life. Imagine that, God the creator of the universe has an interest in you. It is our
responsibility to fulfill that plan in our lives. God gives us the authority to accept or reject his plans. Even though he
knows what will be better for us in the long run, it's still our choice. This is where faith really comes in. We have to trust
that God is smarter than we are, that he knows the future and the best way to get us there. That sounds simple and
believable, but doing it is not always as simple as it may seem. When all your friends are on the way to the party you
know you shouldn't go to, or that young boy or girl that you have liked is finally noticing you now, the choices don't
seem as clear. Jesus wants you to trust him with all your choices.
Matthew 10:39 "He that finds his life shall lose
it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it."
Many times I have heard "I am still young, I want to live my
life before I come to Jesus." The truth is that the longer we put Jesus on hold, the harder it is to come out of the pit
that we are digging ourselves into. I did not accept Jesus until I was 22 years old. Since that time, God has blessed me
more than I could have ever done on my own. The blessings didn't happen over night, there was a whole lot of
undoing that Jesus had to do. Thats the part that people don't seem to realize.
1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our
sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
The cleansing part is the putting away of the flesh. God not only wants to forgive us , but he
also wants us to be whole. It's not enough for us to ask God to forgive us and then go right
back and keep on doing the same thing. God has so much more for us. He told the prostitute
"go and sin no more." Let's begin to trust in a God who loved you so much, he died for you. He
didn't ask for anything, He gave. How can we give back to God?
Romans 12:1 "I beseech
you brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present yourselves a living sacrifice,
holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."
God wants us to be
there for him, just like he is there for you.
Fun Stuff
Seek first the kingdom of God and
his righteousness, and all these
things shall be added unto you.
